FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical rehabilitation, physiotherapy, traumatology and orthopedics, sports medicine and can be used to treat patients with plantar fasciitis. Thickness of the plantar fascia is determined at distance of 1 cm from the place of its attachment to the calcaneal bone. If the thickness of the fascia is more than or equal to 6 mm, patient undergoes 7 high-intensity laser therapy procedures with wavelength of 1,064 nm on the area of attachment of the fascia to the heel bone, after the course, a control ultrasonic examination of the plantar fascia is carried out, and if its thickness is less than 6 mm, a combined treatment is carried out, which includes performing once every 7 days of successive sessions of shock wave therapy at frequency of 10 hertz, with a pressure level of 2.0 bar, 2,000 pulses per session and high-intensity laser therapy with wavelength of 1,064 nm with duration of 4 minutes on the area of attachment of the fascia to the calcaneal bone to relieve pain; if the thickness of the plantar fascia is less than 6 mm, the combination therapy is performed.

EFFECT: method allows to relieve pain, restore support function of lower extremity, reduce length of rehabilitation and social activity due to combined use of extracorporeal shock wave therapy and high-intensity laser therapy with optimal parameters.
