FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to orthopaedics and can be used in the treatment of platypodia and its consequences in the form of joint diseases, arthrosis, intervertebral hernias and chronic pain in all parts of the spine, feet, knees, hip joints, muscles of lower extremities and back, trigger points, plano-valgus deformity of feet, heel spur, plantar fasciitis, posture and gait disorders in both children and adults. Reinforced tapes are applied on each foot and ankle joint; the first tape is applied from under the toes along the plantar surface of the foot to heel with 50 % extension over the Achilles tendon and the lower one-third of the shin. Second tape is applied along the inner surface of the foot, starting from the main phalanx of the first toe to the heel and ending on the outer back surface. Third tape is attached from point 3–4 cm higher than the middle of the external ankle, glued downwards by encircling the foot through the plantar surface and finished above the middle of the internal ankle by 3–4 cm. Fourth tape is applied in the same way as the third tape, with half the width of the tape to the front. Fifth tape is glued in the same way as the third tape, but with a backward retreat by half the tape width. Sixth tape is applied from the dorsal-outer side of the foot in a projection of the Lisfranc joint with the half-width of the fourth tape covering downwards through the outer edge of the foot on the plantar surface with an outlet from the inner side of the foot to the back surface in a circular manner through the outer edge of the foot obliquely back to the medial surface of the calcaneal bone, encircling the calcaneal bone at the attachment point of the Achilles tendon from behind and from the outside, and attached on the sole or under the internal ankle. Seventh tape is applied circularly from a dorsal-external surface of the metatarsus in projection of 4–5th metatarsophalangeal joints with a transition to the sole with an exit from the inner surface of the foot in projection of 2–3th metatarsophalangeal joint. Eighth tape is fixed on the main phalanx of the first toe. Tapes are applied for 2–3 months, worn for at least 14 days, with possible correction of the dressings in at least 7 days; the course length is twice a year.
EFFECT: method provides correction of defects of transverse and longitudinal arches of foot, plantar fascia and instability of ankle joint, simplicity of execution.
