METHOD FOR REPAIR OF MID-LATERAL POSTOPERATIVE VENTRAL HERNIAS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/04 A61F2/90 

FIELD: medicine; surgery.

SUBSTANCE: after excision of a postoperative scar, subcutaneous fat is dissected. Hernial sac is separated from the cicatricial adhesions. Hernial sac is immersed into the abdominal cavity. Space under an aponeurosis of an external oblique muscle of the abdomen is separated from the underlying tissues: from 9th rib to the iliac crest and from the psoas muscle to the posterior leaves of the rectus abdominis muscles. Sheath of rectus abdominis muscles is opened. Retromuscular space of rectus abdominis muscles is prepared from both sides. Tendon part of internal oblique muscle of abdomen is transected with preservation of tendon part of transverse muscle, while combining subgaleal and retromuscular spaces and forming an implant bed. Mesh implant cut to the size of the bed is placed in the formed bed. Implant is fixed along its perimeter with percutaneous transaponeurotic sutures.

EFFECT: method enables to eliminate the defect of the anterior and lateral abdominal wall, preserve the full function of the anterior abdominal wall, reduce the recurrence rate, improve the tissue regeneration processes in the area of plastics, reduce the rate of postoperative complications and improve the quality of life of the patients in the postoperative period.
