FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chemistry, specifically to a new thermosensitive colour reversible indicator, and can be used for visual control and indication of temperature and temperature fields in various technological processes. The result is achieved by using potassium hexa(isothiocyanate)chromate (III) and nicotinic acid produced industrially as an inexpensive medicinal product (vitamin PP), which causes the low cost and availability thereof, as the initial substances. The resulting substance is stable in storage, non-toxic, and odourless.
EFFECT: creation of a new reversible thermochromic material based on hexa(isothiocyanate)chromate(III)diaquatris(nicotinic acid)samarium(III) dihydrate exhibiting the capability of reversibly changing the colouring when heated to a temperature of 115°C, accessible in production and convenient in practical application.
