FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry, more specifically to a novel reversible chemical color temperature indicator, and can be used for indication and visual control of temperature in various processes. Disclosed is a reversible chemical temperature indicator based on a double coordination compound - sesquihydrate hexa(isothiocyanato)chromate (III) diaquatrix (nicotinic acid) praseodymium (III), which has reversible color change when heated to 115 °C, and its composition is characterized by chemical formula [Pr(C6H5NO2)3(H2O)2][Cr(NCS)6]⋅1.5H2O.
EFFECT: development of a new reversible thermochromic material based on sesquihydrate hexa(isothiocyanato)chromate(III)diaquatrix(nicotinic acid) praseodymium (III), having the ability to reversibly change color when heated to 115 °C, available in production and easy to use in practice.
