Also described is a method for preventing or treating coronavirus infection, comprising administering a composition with an effective amount of a modified nucleic acid molecule to a subject infected with or at risk of being infected with a coronavirus.

EFFECT: vaccine induces a broad protective immune response against coronavirus and its variants.
