SUBSTANCE: medical imaging device for computed tomography, comprising: a first longitudinally extending frame portion, a supporting structure connected thereto, comprising a ring-shaped gantry, an X-ray source and an image detector, which together form an X-ray imaging unit mounted on the support structure, a first drive mechanism and a control system for controlling said first drive mechanism and simultaneously controlling the X-ray imaging unit, wherein the support structure comprises one or two guide structures for lateral movement of one of the X-ray source and the image detector or both said elements relative to the support structure.
EFFECT: creation of a computed tomography device having features related to the mutual arrangement of the device and the patient for exposure.
