FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to detect electromagnetic radiation in a narrow spectral range. Disclosed is a plasmon photodetector consisting of metal nanostructures on a dielectric substrate, connected to constant voltage source, resistor and voltage indicator, wherein the metal nanostructures are presented in the form of two rows of regularly arranged identical nanoplates, separated by a dielectric layer with thickness of 0.5–5 nm, having in the plane of the substrate in the direction of the row sharpened edges ≤ 60°, note here that nanoplates of both rows are staggered so that their sharpened edges overlap by not more than 25% of nanoplate length.

EFFECT: high sensitivity of the photodetector.
