FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing carbon dioxide, ammonia and ammonium carbonate from urea. Method of producing carbon dioxide, ammonia and ammonium carbonate from urea is characterized by that urea or its mixture with water is heated with sulfuric acid and/or phosphoric acid, either with a mixture of sulfuric and/or phosphoric acid with their acid ammonium salts, or with a mixture of acid ammonium salts of phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid, taken in the ratio of sulfur-containing reagent to phosphorus-containing reagent as (1–99):(99–1). Decomposition of urea to produce carbon dioxide is carried out at temperature of 150–200 °C, decomposition of the obtained product containing ammonium salts, in order to obtain gaseous ammonia is carried out at temperature of 300–490 °C, temperature range of 200–300 °C with sequential process of decomposition of urea and temperature range of 300–490 °C when carrying out the process of decomposition of urea in a single step, it is used for simultaneous production of carbon dioxide and ammonia. To purify ammonium carbonate, it is sublimated at temperature of 60–105 °C from 1 to 5 times. Non-volatile products after decomposition of urea are reused for decomposition of a new portion of urea.

EFFECT: providing a method of producing ammonia and carbon dioxide for producing ammonium fertilizers, ammonium salts, ammonium carbonate salts.
