SUBSTANCE: system (1) for containing at least partially liquid metal material from lateral spreading on the open end side of the passage, formed between two casting elements of casting machine, comprises device (2) for supply of at least one compressed gas. Device (2) is equipped with hollow end element (3) with at least one chamber installed near the open end side of the passage. Element (3) comprises blowing surface with holes for blowing compressed gas or gases from said chamber into lateral containment zone. Two or more blowing surfaces are not in one plane or in one blowing surface there are two or more groups of holes, each of which is oriented differently from other groups, for different orientation of gas flow.
EFFECT: increased area of lateral restraint is provided at elimination of direct contact of metal with device of lateral restraint.
