FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biocidal roofing granules and a method for production thereof and can be used for protection of roofing and facade materials, including based on bitumen-polymer base. Biocidal roofing granule is made with a base of crushed rock, coated with a ceramic layer of the composition, comprising kaolin, liquid glass and biocide – brass powder, which is a copper-zinc alloy, with particle size of 5 mcm to 75 mcm, in which content of zinc ranges from 15 wt% to 30 wt%, wherein amount of biocide ranges from 4.5 kg to 30 kg per ton of base. Biocidal roofing granule made with a base of crushed rock coated with at least two ceramic layers from a composition comprising kaolin, liquid glass and biocide – brass powder, which is a copper-zinc alloy, with particle size from 5 mcm to 75 mcm, in which content of zinc is from 15 wt% to 30 wt%, and amount of biocide is more than 30 kg, but less than or equal to 60 kg per ton of base. Group of inventions is developed in dependent claims.

EFFECT: obtaining biocidal roofing granules having high release of biocidal ions for counteracting biofouling for a long period of time, high manufacturing efficiency of biocidal ions.
