FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and is used to monitor characteristics of the receiving channel of a receiving-transmitting module (TRM) of an active phased antenna array (APAA) in the microwave range. Result is achieved by the fact that a test signal is generated in the form of a coherent sequence of M rectangular radio pulses, where M is the number of APAA TRM, test signal level corresponds to the level of signals arriving at the input of the TRM receiving channel during operation of the radar station in standard mode, and the duration is matched with its bandwidth, the obtained test signal is supplied to the input of the receiving channel and simultaneously to the input of the first coherent adder, and also simultaneously connecting the second coherent adder to the output of the receiving channel, and the summation results of both adders are supplied to the computer inputs, which generates complex amplitudes of both results of coherent summation and, by dividing the second complex amplitude by the first, outputs the value of the measured complex gain of the receiving channel of the TRM of the microwave APAA.
EFFECT: providing reliability of determining the complex gain of the receiving channel of the TRM and monitoring the phase distribution of the field on the APAA aperture.
