FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to immunology, cardiology and paediatrics, and can be used for diagnosis of secondary immunodeficiency conditions in children with congenital heart disease of infancy, early and preschool age, underwent complete or partial removal of thymus gland during surgical correction of congenital heart defects. Thymus sonography is performed to determine the part of thymic parenchyma left over from the operation; ultrasound diagnostics of upper mediastinum, scapular-trapezoid triangle, scapular-clavicular triangle, sternocleidomastoid region with supraclavicular fossa of neck, areas of the submandibular triangle, as well as the parenchyma of the thyroid gland; determination of T-lymphocytes with marking T-cell Receptor Excision Circle (TREC) in blood and determination of frequency of acute respiratory viral infections in the period after cardiac surgery with thymectomy in a child. If the level of T-lymphocytes marked TREC in blood is below the reference value, determined after thymectomy by the "dry spot" method, in the absence of foci of ectopic tissue of the thymus gland in the areas of the upper mediastinum, scapular-trapezoid triangle, scapular-clavicular triangle, sternocleidomastoid region with supraclavicular fossa of neck, submandibular triangle region, thyroid parenchyma ultrasound findings and an increase in the rate of acute respiratory viral infections in the period following a cardiac surgery with thymectomy are used to diagnose a secondary immunodeficiency state in a child.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to detect immunodeficiency conditions in children who have undergone complete or partial removal of the thymus gland during the surgical correction of congenital heart defects, before the development of clinical symptoms due to thymus sonography, ultrasound diagnostics of the above areas; determination of T-lymphocytes with TREC marking in blood and determination of incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in the period after surgery in a child.
