SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of performing repair and insulation works in a well. According to the method, a module with hydraulic cylinders mounted on a tubing string and connected to a packer-plug, which includes a fixed shaft and movable parts, is installed at the wellhead and then lowered into the well. When a given depth is reached, a ball is thrown into the tubing string and excess pressure is created in the tubing string, as a result of which the hydraulic cylinders move downward relative to the fixed shaft and exert a force effect on the movable parts of the packer-plug, ensuring its installation in the well and isolating the required interval. In case of insufficient hydraulic connection of the well with the casing string above the place of installation of the packer-plug, intermediate lowering of the piercing perforator is performed on the tubing string to create a puncture of the production string. Then module with hydraulic cylinders and filling packer-retainer, including fixed shaft and movable parts, is lowered to tubing. When the pre-set depth is reached, excess pressure is created in the tubing, as a result of which the hydraulic cylinders move downwards relative to the fixed shaft and exert a force effect on the movable parts of the filling packer-retainer. Then, insulating material in the form of a cement composition is poured through the installed filling packer-retainer under pressure with its guaranteed penetration through the holes made by the piercing perforator.
