SUBSTANCE: device includes the main cap for mounting on the outer side of the wheel disc and an additional cap for mounting on the inner side of the disc on the wheel hub. Main and additional caps are made in the form of a circle with through radial and central holes, besides, holes of the additional cap are coaxial with holes of the main cap. Diameters of the main and additional caps exceed the diameter of the disc, but are less than the outer diameter of the wheel by the value of dynamic deflection of the tire in the vertical plane. Additional cap has a stepped shape with the possibility of conjugation of its surface with the inner surface of the disc facing the hub. Central holes in caps are made with possibility of their mounting on hub. Caps are mounted on the wheel hub on the inner and outer sides of the tire in a mirror-like manner relative to the wheel disc. On the outer sides of the main and additional caps there are grooves coaxial to each other, in which inserts from high-strength material are installed, which is made with possibility of absorbing kinetic energy of a bullet or a fragment. Outer side of the inserts is rounded.
