FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology and X-ray diagnostics, and can be used for prediction of probability of hearing recovery in 1 year in patients with middle ear cholesteatoma (MEC). CT of temporal bones is performed, preservation of stapes superstructure and involvement of mastoid process are assessed. A prognostic CM coefficient is calculated. If the CM is more than 0.44, a high probability of hearing recovery is determined in 1 year.
EFFECT: method enables predicting the probability of hearing recovery in 1 year in patients with MEC by determining prognostic values.
