SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to transmission of information from a device for operation with liquid, more specifically to transmission of information by means of a machine-readable code. Method of transmitting information in a system comprising at least one device for working with a liquid, wherein the device for working with liquid is an automated system for working with liquid, comprising at least one electronic manual pipette, and at least one external device, comprising: generating a machine-readable code in an electronic hand-held pipette; displaying the generated code on the display of the electronic manual pipette, which is built into the structure of the corresponding electronic manual pipette; reading the displayed one or more codes using an external device. Machine-readable code contains information on the history of use of said pipette and/or information on the design of the pipette or conclusions derived therefrom.
EFFECT: providing faster transmission of information regarding previous pipetting processes.
