FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices simulating the tobacco smoking process. Portable device for generating an aerosol comprises a heater for generating heat when current is supplied to it, an accumulator feeding the heater, heater control circuit for control of power supplied from accumulator to heater. Microcontroller is designed to control the operation of the heater control circuit during a certain heating time. Error control means is provided separately from the microcontroller and is connected to both the microcontroller and the heater control circuit, for receiving and counting the control signal transmitted from the microcontroller to the heater control circuit, and simultaneous control of the heater control circuit operation depending on the counting result. Heater voltage measurement section is connected to microcontroller, determining voltage supplied to heater, by signal coming from heater voltage measurement section, and controlling the power of the control signal supplied to the heater control circuit if the voltage supplied to the heater is higher or lower than the reference value.
EFFECT: preventing overheating and/or failure of equipment by detecting an error in the heating operation and controlling the heating operation.
