FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a method for generating a trapezoidal bipolar defibrillation pulse with a stepped shape of the front and an edge, and to a device for its implementation. Defibrillation pulse is supplied to the patient’s chest from a unit of parallel/serially switched storage capacitors. At the beginning of defibrillation pulse generation, the patient’s chest resistance is determined. During formation of phases of defibrillation pulse voltage is increased at the beginning of each phase of pulse through time intervals equal to pre-set duration of pulse front divided by number of voltage increase steps. Voltage is reduced at the end of each phase of the pulse through time intervals equal to the specified duration of the pulse edge divided by the number of voltage reduction steps. Number of steps of increasing and decreasing the voltage for each phase, as well as the duration of the first and second phases of the defibrillation pulse are set depending on the value of the electrical resistance of the patient’s chest. Device for generating a defibrillation pulse comprises a unit of series/parallel switched storage capacitors interconnected in series by control keys, and a bridge polarity switch. Unit of capacitors is connected to a bridge circuit of polarity switching by series connection of additional resistors, in parallel to which keys are connected to control their connection to the discharge circuit.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of defibrillation pulse in the range of chest resistance over 175 to 300 Ohm.
