FIELD: radar.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used for detection and direction finding of surface and semi-submerged drones with low effective scattering area of less than 0.5 m2. Disclosed radar direction finding system based on MIMO signals and calculation of coordinates of drones by hardware and software consists of a driving channel, a receiving channel, an antenna array and a control and processing channel, which contain: microcontroller, first and second band-pass filters, tunable band-pass filter, digital frequency synthesizer and carrier frequency generator, three mixers, power divider, four microwave switches, first and second amplifiers with gain control, first and second ADCs. MIMO antenna system is based on two spaced apart antenna receiving-transmitting arrays located in the same plane at a distance of about 10–20 cm to each other.
EFFECT: high probability of detecting surface drones with low effective reflection area, as well as high accuracy of determining coordinates of surface drones: azimuth angle, range and speed.
