FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely neurology, and can be used for treating demyelinating diseases, particularly multiple sclerosis. What is presented is a pharmaceutical combination for protecting neurons of the central nervous system from myelin sheath damage, which contains human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine succinate in effective amounts. Also disclosed is a method of treating multiple sclerosis, involving administering said combination to a patient.
EFFECT: invention provides protection of neurons of the central nervous system from damage of myelin sheaths, as well as reducing the severity and probability of side effects characteristic of the preparations used for treating multiple sclerosis.
