SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is intended for the treatment and/or prevention of a demyelinating disease in a subject. A pharmaceutical composition containing nalfurafine is used to (i) treat a demyelinating disease in a subject, (ii) increase nerve remyelination in a subject, or (iii) attenuate nerve demyelination in a subject. Also a method of (i) treating a demyelinating disease in a subject, (ii) increasing nerve remyelination in a subject, or (iii) attenuating nerve demyelination in a subject comprising administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition containing nalfurafine is provided. In another embodiment, the use of nalfurafine is disclosed for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for (i) treating a demyelinating disease in a subject, (ii) increasing nerve remyelination in a subject, or (iii) attenuating nerve demyelination in a subject.

EFFECT: use of the group of inventions provides effective treatment of a demyelinating disease in a subject, and also makes it possible to increase nerve remyelination in a subject or weaken nerve demyelination in a subject.
