FIELD: hand-held cutting tools.

SUBSTANCE: sharpening sheaths adapted to accommodate a knife to be sharpened or stored have a cavity for accommodating a blade and an access hole at one end of the cavity. Sheath comprises an upper part provided with a guiding device for the rear part of the blade, and a lower part containing a sharpening device intended for applying the cutting edge of the blade to it when inserting or removing the blade in the sheath. Guide device comprises a V-shaped groove. Sharpening device comprises two sharpening elements arranged in a V-like manner opposite the groove of the guide device. Sharpening device is installed with the possibility of movement relative to the guide device and return by means of return means to the guide device. V-shaped sharpening elements and V-shaped groove form a diamond-shaped hole made with possibility of insertion of the blade end into it when the knife is stored in the sheath.

EFFECT: uniform and constant sharpening of the blade in the sharpening sheath.
