FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a system for producing direct-reduced metal material. When producing direct-reduced metal material, loading the metal material into the furnace space, pumping out the existing atmosphere to achieve a gas pressure of less than 1 bar, providing heat and hydrogen gas so that heated hydrogen gas heats the loaded metal material to a temperature high enough to reduce metal oxides present in the metal material, which causes formation of water vapor. Wherein the supply of gaseous hydrogen is carried out so that inside the furnace space a pressure of more than 1 bar is created, and without recirculation of hydrogen gas during reduction of metal material so that hydrogen gas is supplied to the furnace, but is not removed from it during reduction, wherein hydrogen gas is supplied to the upper part of the furnace space. Before pumping gases from the furnace space back to atmospheric pressure, the formed water vapor is condensed and collected. Before pumping gases from the furnace space back to atmospheric pressure, carbon-containing gas is supplied to the upper part of the furnace space, so that the heated and reduced metal material is carbonized with the said carbon-containing gas.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method and a device for producing straight-reduced carbonised metal.
