SUBSTANCE: invention relates to prevention of natural disasters and is intended for prevention of snow accumulation on roofs of buildings. Method for automatic prevention of snow accumulation on roofs of buildings consists in the following: according to the signal from the precipitation sensor, until the moment of snow accumulation on the roofs of buildings, it is blown off through slot-like nozzles arranged on two sides of several series-connected sections of wind tunnels located on the ridge part of the hip-type roof, combined through pipelines into a common manifold and into one air blower, wherein said manifold is equipped with automatic two-position air shutters, which, in a given mode, alternately redirect all air flow via pipelines to one of sections of connected wind tunnels to prevent snow accumulation. A device for implementing the method is also described.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of prevention of snow accumulation on roofs of buildings, reduced energy, material and operational costs.
