FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to production of carbamide and can be used in chemical industry and in production of fertilizers. Invention relates to a method of producing ammonia, involving: a) a step for producing a converted gas using a natural gas reforming step; b) a step for producing synthesis gas from the converted gas using steps of converting carbon monoxide and extracting carbon dioxide; c) a step for producing ammonia from synthesis gas, wherein a purge gas is removed from the step for producing ammonia. Purge gas from step c) is fed for combustion at natural gas reforming step, wherein at step c) the volumetric flow rate of the purge gas is controlled depending on the amount of carbon dioxide released at step b), and the amount of ammonia obtained at step c) so that the molar ratio of the amount of ammonia to the amount of carbon dioxide tends to the stoichiometric ratio required to obtain carbamide. Invention also relates to an ammonia production unit.
EFFECT: obtaining ammonia and carbon dioxide in the ratio required to obtain carbamide without the formation of excess ammonia, increasing the energy efficiency of the technology for producing components for synthesis of carbamide, providing output of components for synthesis of carbamide in the required amount without formation of excess ammonia, reducing the amount of inerts in the circulation circuit and, as a result, reducing the pressure in the circulation circuit, and reducing the metal consumption of the equipment.
