SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Surgical treatment of recurrent rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in progressive proliferative vitreoretinopathy after previous vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade is performed. Zones of the most pronounced proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) in the lower quadrants of the eyeball are ophthalmoscopically determined; these zones are marked on the sclera. Extra-scleral filling is performed in these areas with the top of the shaft impression of the filling in the area of the most pronounced changes of the PVR, and the filling is fixed with sutures. If observing arterial pulsation and vasospasm of retinal vessels, silicone oil is drained through sclerostoma.

EFFECT: method enables improving the functional result, enables eliminating the retinal deficiency due to progressive PVR in the lower quadrants, as well as eliminating the contracted retina deficiency and providing its adjoining without the use of approaches aimed at removing a portion of the retina during revitrectomy and narrowing the peripheral boundaries of the visual field.
