FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery. Blood vessel wall of the subject in need thereof is heat treated, including the supply of microwave energy with frequency of 5 GHz to 15 GHz. Microwave energy is transmitted with power of up to 15 W to heat the blood vessel wall of the subject at rate of 1.5–1.7 °C/s and to temperature from 40 °C to 49 °C, and then reducing the microwave radiation to (1–5) W to maintain the temperature of the blood vessel wall for a period of time from about 15 to 180 seconds. In other embodiments of the method, a microwave oven is also used in said modes.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to inhibit or prevent progression of stenosis or restenosis in blood vessels.
