SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a flat security element with optical security elements and to a valuable document including such a security element. Flat security element (4) includes at least one first surface area (1) with a first subwavelength structure, in which structural elements which define the first subwavelength structure are periodically repeated in the plane of security element (4). In order to be able to depict a motive with high counterfeit protection using at least two different colour perceptions, which motive is easily created, it is envisaged that the first subwavelength structure of at least one subregion of the first surface region (1) is additionally provided with interference coating (5) to create a colour change effect.
EFFECT: disclosed are a flat security element with optical security elements and a valuable document.
