FIELD: heat engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat engineering, in particular to direct contact heat exchangers, and can be used in cooling towers for removal of sand from a cooling tower, wherein the device for sand removal comprises a flushing unit and a cyclone unit for sand removal. Flushing assembly comprises a first pipeline with a plurality of water outlets, and the first pipeline is used to spray liquid towards the lower part of the cooling tower through the plurality of water outlets. Cyclone sand removal unit is used to extract liquid from the lower part of the cooling tower, treat the liquid for sand removal, and then discharge the liquid cleaned from sand into the lower part of the cooling tower.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of sand removal from liquid.
