SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, vertebrology, neurology, traumatology-orthopaedics, and can be used to treat pain syndrome, longer remission of the disease and recovery of shock-absorbing, elastic properties of the intervertebral disc in degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the spine at the lumbar level. Surgical treatment by posterolateral approach involves performing a puncture of an intervertebral disc with a needle with a mandrin under X-ray control, then the mandrin is replaced with a fibre-optic light guide, and 3 zones of the nucleus pulposus are exposed to a semiconductor laser in a pulsed mode of different power – a distal portion of 4.5 W, a central portion of 5.5 W, a proximal portion of 4.5 W. Laser exposure is performed alternately with the same pulse duration of 0.5 s, interval is 0.3 s, the number of pulses in each zone is 10. Method provides a safe and effective method of treating vertebrogenic syndrome caused by a degenerative-dystrophic process.

EFFECT: increased diffusion coefficient testifies to restoration of viscoelastic properties of intervertebral disc and preservation of disc height that is clinically manifested by reduction of pain syndrome intensity and its regression.
