DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61M5/50 G16H40/40

Abstract RU 2830100 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to a device for administering and/or delivering a drug, additionally relates to a system in which the device can be used, and a method of administration, and an additional method associated with the system. Drug delivery system comprises a drug delivery device, first sensor and second sensor. Drug administrative device comprises a drug holder containing a drug located therein and configured to deliver the drug. First sensor is connected to at least one of the drug administrative devices and the package unit for the drug administrative device. First sensor is configured to monitor at least one drug exposure condition after binding to the drug administrative device and is located on the packaging unit, and the packaging unit comprises one or more drug administrative devices. Second sensor is associated with the drug, is located on the drug holder and is configured to monitor at least one drug exposure condition from an initial point in time before the drug is coupled to the drug administrative device, to the second moment, at which the drug is connected to the drug administrative device and the first sensor is activated. Method for controlling a drug delivery system comprising a drug administrative device having a drug holder containing a drug therein comprises: monitoring, by a first sensor on the drug administrative device, at least one drug exposure condition after binding the drug to the drug administrative device; transmitting data representing at least one action condition to a communication interface associated with the first sensor; receiving and transmitting data via a communication interface to a processor which is connected to the communication interface; determining by the processor the viability of the drug based on the obtained data characterizing at least one exposure condition; and monitoring, by means of a second sensor located on the drug holder, at least one drug exposure condition for a time interval at least before binding the drug to the drug administrative device. According to the second embodiment, the drug delivery system comprises a housing, a sensor and a communication interface. Housing comprises drug administrative devices. Each drug administrative device comprises at least one drug holder containing a drug disposed therein and is further configured to deliver a drug. Sensor is connected to the housing and is configured to detect at least one drug exposure condition. Communication interface is configured to exchange data with the processor of at least one drug exposure condition. According to a second embodiment, a method for controlling a drug delivery system comprising a body comprising drug administrative devices, each of which includes at least one drug holder containing a drug located therein, includes: detecting by at least one sensor associated with the body at least one drug exposure condition; transmitting data representing at least one action condition to a communication interface associated with at least one sensor; receiving and transmitting data via a communication interface to a processor which is connected to the communication interface; and determining viability of the drug by the processor based on the obtained data characterizing at least one exposure condition. According to the third embodiment, the drug delivery system comprises a drug administrative device, a drug status indicator and a reading device. Drug administrative device comprises a drug holder containing a drug located therein and configured to deliver the drug. Drug state indicator is associated with at least one of the drug administrative device and the drug holder and is configured to indicate the degree of exposure of the drug to an environmental condition. Reading device is connected to the drug administrative device and is configured to measure the drug state indicator to measure the state of the drug state indicator. According to a fourth embodiment, a drug delivery system comprises a drug administrative device, a label, first sensor and second sensor. Device for administering a drug comprises a body and a drug holder containing a drug disposed therein and is configured to deliver a drug. Label is associated with at least one of the body and the drug holder and is configured to provide a visual indication to the user that the drug has exceeded the threshold temperature for the drug. First sensor is connected to the drug administrative device and is configured to monitor at least one drug exposure condition after binding to the drug administrative device. Second sensor is connected to the drug holder and is configured to monitor at least one drug exposure condition from the initial time point before the drug is connected to the drug administrative device to the second time point, in which the drug is connected to the drug administrative device and the first sensor is activated. According to a third embodiment, a method for controlling a drug delivery system comprising a drug administrative device having a drug holder containing a drug therein comprises: monitoring by means of a drug condition indicator associated with at least one of the drug administrative device and a drug holder containing a drug placed therein, the extent of the drug exposure to at least one environmental condition; measurement by means of a reading device associated with a drug administrative device, a drug status indicator for detecting a response which indicates the extent of the drug exposure to at least one environmental condition; transmitting data representing the response of the drug status indicator to the processor associated with the reading device; and determining by the processor the viability of the drug based on the obtained data characterizing the response of the drug state indicator.

EFFECT: drug delivery systems and methods provide monitoring of the effect on a drug of one or more exposure conditions.
