FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of fire safety, creation of fire extinguishing means for heat absorption as a result of temperature action. Fire extinguishing substance is a magnesium-containing substance consisting of magnesium carbonate 51.62–52.84% and magnesium hydroxide 46.13–47.28%, with grain size from 4 to 10 mm. Fire extinguishing substance in the temperature range of 345–535 °C intensively absorbs heat, providing high fire extinguishing efficiency. Fire extinguishing capacity is provided by reducing oxygen concentration and replacing it with carbon dioxide formed during thermal decomposition of magnesium carbonate.
EFFECT: providing high thermal stability depending on the heating rate, safety for humans and the environment, as well as wider range of substances used as an active component for producing fire-extinguishing substances.
