FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing fluoro anhydrides of aromatic carboxylic acids of formula I, where Ar is phenyl or pyridyl, including in which one or more hydrogen atoms are substituted with halogen atoms, alkyl, perfluoroalkyl or alkoxy groups, and is characterized by that the end product is obtained by direct replacement of an aldehyde hydrogen atom with a fluorine atom reaction of the corresponding aromatic aldehydes with salt of 1-fluoro-4-chloromethyl-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane with a perfluorinated anion. Synthesis is carried out in a medium of a dipolar aprotic solvent under the action of ultraviolet radiation with wavelength of 330–420 nm at temperature of 0 to 40 °C for 20–60 minutes in an inert gas medium.
EFFECT: fewer synthesis steps, avoiding use of toxic and corrosive reagents, shorter reaction time, reduced amount of solvent used and easier extraction of target products.
