FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytic chemistry, particularly to a method of producing sulphocationite catalysts for dehydration of alcohols. Described is the preparation of sulphocationite catalysts. Method involves treating wood processing wastes – sulphonated lignins (lignosulphonates) – with sulphuric acid, washing with water to remove excess sulphuric acid and drying, followed by additional steam treatment of the obtained product at temperature of 100-130 °C. Treatment with sulphuric acid is carried out by impregnating lignins with sulphuric acid at room temperature (18-25 °C) for 0.5-1 hours with vigorous stirring. Then the product is held at temperature of 100-120 °C for 2-4 hours to reduce catalyst losses, increase the degree of sulphonation and increase catalyst activity.
EFFECT: invention increases catalytic properties of sulphocationite.
