FIELD: laser equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid-state lasers and a method of cooling an active element (AE) of a laser. Disclosed is a method for cooling a solid-state laser active element based on a transparent material doped with ions of rare-earth elements, consisting of a set of flat parallel plates separated by slit gaps, through which a flow of cooling liquid is pumped, and excited by optical pumping by radiation flux, characterized by that optical pumping is carried out in the local area of the active element plates, wherein the active element is moved across the optical pumping radiation flux.
EFFECT: minimization of overall characteristics and reduction of power consumption of the device for cooling of the solid-state active element due to provision of the best cooling conditions of the AE.
