FIELD: alarm.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical means of protecting the territory of objects and can be used to detect an intruder penetrating through the detection zone of an extended guard line. Method of detecting an intruder on an extended guard line is characterized by the fact that N distributed acoustic sensors are laid along the guard line. At the same time, probing optical pulses are transmitted from each radiation source via the corresponding N distributed acoustic sensor at the moment of absence of the intruder at the extended security line. Coordinates and time t of change of spectrum-structure of light on M section in N distributed acoustic sensor are registered. Location of the intruder at the guard line and the direction of his movement are determined from the values of coordinates and the time t of change in the spectrum-structure of light on the M section of each of the N distributed acoustic sensors.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining current coordinates of an intruder within a surveillance zone on an extended guard line.
