FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: detection system detects pressure fluctuations in the field of an inhomogeneous pressure wave formed when an object moves in water and moves along with the object, wherein the location of the detected object and its motion parameters are determined from characteristics of the shape of the detected pressure wave. The system for realising a passive method of detecting objects moving in water has pressure fluctuation detectors 1, 2, …, N, which are connected to an electronic data processing system 3.

EFFECT: rapid detection of objects moving in shallow water, determination of location and motion parameters thereof.
