FIELD: separation.

SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to magnetic separation of iron ore; particularly relates to a method for magnetic separation of iron ore, which employs a vertical pulsating high-gradient magnetic separator (VPHGMS) to reduce water consumption, and system for removal of iron ore particles adhered due to magnetic hysteresis to magnetic matrix of vertical magnetic separator, containing separation ring (10) containing magnetic matrix; supply (1) for ore supply; storage tank (2) for ore, located in lower part of magnetic matrix and containing outlet (3) for material with low magnetic susceptibility; device for generating a magnetic field configured to generate a magnetic field in the area of storage tank (2); at least one collecting tray (7, 8) located inside the magnetic matrix and configured to collect material with higher magnetic susceptibility, separated from magnetic matrix; and collecting container (9) configured to receive material with higher magnetic susceptibility from at least one collecting tray (7, 8). System comprises demagnetizer (4) located above first collecting tray of at least one collecting tray (7, 8); mechanical device (5) for cleaning magnetic matrix, located after demagnetizer (4); and at least one device (6) for creating a jet of compressed air, located after mechanical device (5) for cleaning magnetic matrix. Said system is used in a method of removing iron ore particles adhered to a magnetic matrix of a vertical magnetic separator due to magnetic hysteresis, comprising demagnetizing iron ore particles in a position above first collecting tray (7) from at least one collecting tray (7, 8); mechanical cleaning by means of mechanical device (5) for cleaning of magnetic matrix in position following demagnetiser (4); direction of direct jets of compressed air to magnetic matrix in position following mechanical device (5) for cleaning of magnetic matrix.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of separation and reduced water consumption.
