FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for surfacing surfaces of articles subjected to various types of wear from external factors, including from stainless steels or nickel alloys. Main wire electrode is supplied perpendicular to the surface of the article, and the auxiliary one – in front of the main wire electrode at an angle to it from 60 to 80 degrees. Length of the additional arc is adjusted at the selected angle of inclination of the auxiliary electrode by selecting the height of its butt end on the condition of obtaining the point of convergence of the axes of both melting electrodes on the surface of the article being built-up. Positive poles from each power supply are connected to the main wire electrode. Negative pole of the main arc power supply is connected to the built-up article, and the negative pole of the additional arc power supply is connected to the auxiliary wire electrode.
EFFECT: method provides effective control of modes of double-arc surfacing with two consumable electrodes in protective gases.
