FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for automatic surfacing and wire-arc growing using additive technologies of articles from aluminium alloys. Surfacing is carried out in a protective gas medium with two consumable wire electrodes, which are connected to different poles of the current source. Main electrode is placed with formation of the main arc between it and the built-up surface, and the additional electrode is placed at an angle to the main electrode with formation of an indirect arc between them. During the surfacing process, the current strength of the indirect arc is monitored. When current deviates from preset value over a given period of time, by means of feedback, surfacing head with main and additional electrodes is displaced in height relative to surface to be built-up until restoration of mutual arrangement of main and additional wire electrodes and preset value of indirect arc current.
EFFECT: method provides high stability of the process of multilayer surfacing at change of height of the built-up surface.
