FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of samples built up by welding electrodes of metal to determine its chemical composition. Electrode metal is melted by welding arc at current from range, recommended by technical conditions, arc of indirect action between two electrodes. Sample is formed on a copper substrate provided that the substrate is not melted by the electrode metal and is not strongly bonded to the obtained sample. Melt electrodes of different chemical composition can be used. One of the electrodes can be non-consumable.
EFFECT: method improves quality of samples by eliminating ingress of substrate material into the sample, creating conditions for similarity of metallurgical processes without participation of the parent metal and longer life of the substrate when it is used multiple times.
