FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to personal devices for viewing stereoscopic images. Mirror stereoscope consists of an eyepiece, two mirrors and a stereo pair. Left and right images of the stereo pair are preliminarily prepared – anamorphic in order to compensate for image distortions caused by the design of the stereoscope. Anamorphic images are located on the same plane in close proximity to each other, wherein only one mirror is used to change the direction of the observation axis for each of the two anamorphic images, and installation angles of mirrors, eyepiece, image plane, angles of change of directions of observation axes for left and right eyes of observer are selected arbitrarily.
EFFECT: ensuring proper quality when viewing static and dynamic stereo pairs with reduced requirements for display quality.
