FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: radio-frequency (RF) sensor for monitoring skin moisture, wherein said RF sensor is configured to operate at frequency of the centimetre-millimetre wavelength range, wherein said RF sensor comprises: a printed circuit board comprising at least a first metal layer, a first dielectric layer, a second metal layer and a second dielectric layer arranged in said order from top to bottom of the sensor; a diaphragm intended for contact with skin and made in the form of a window in the first metal layer, wherein the diaphragm has a symmetrical shape relative to two axes of symmetry perpendicular to each other and parallel to the plane of the window; a volumetric resonator formed by at least a first metal layer, a first dielectric layer, a second metal layer and transition metal-coated holes made in at least the first dielectric layer and defining the cavity resonator in the printed circuit board, wherein the transition metallized holes surround the diaphragm when viewed from above; a supply line located on the lower surface of the second dielectric layer, wherein at least one end of the supply line is connected to a radio frequency (RF) signal source which generates an RF signal with a frequency of the centimetre-millimetre wavelength range, and wherein the electromagnetic field with the frequency of the centimetre-millimetre wavelength range enters the RF sensor when the RF signal is supplied to the power line; and a slot made in the second metal layer and located opposite the diaphragm when viewed from above, wherein the slot excites one electromagnetic field mode in the cavity resonator and suppresses all other electromagnetic field modes.

EFFECT: high accuracy and repeatability of measurements, high sensitivity of the sensor.
