FIELD: antenna equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna engineering, in particular to a surface wave antenna with a controlled directivity pattern. Disclosed is a surface wave antenna with a controlled beam pattern, wherein the antenna is configured to operate at a frequency of the millimetre wavelength range and wherein the antenna comprises a printed-circuit board comprising, in said order, from bottom to top, at least a metal grounding layer, dielectric layer, which is a waveguide structure, rows of metallized areas located on the upper surface of the dielectric layer and continuing in the direction of propagation of the surface electromagnetic wave in the dielectric layer, wherein in each row between metallized sections there are gaps and each two adjacent metallized sections form a cell and wherein the millimetre-wave radio frequency (RF) signal propagates in the dielectric layer in the form of a surface electromagnetic wave in the longitudinal direction of the rows of metallized sections.
EFFECT: providing wide-angle scanning with an antenna beam using only one RF channel.
