SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding sound scenes. Data stream containing M signals is received, which are combinations of N audio objects formed in accordance with a criterion which does not depend on any configuration of loudspeakers. Said criterion is based on spatial proximity of N sound objects and significance values of N sound objects, indicating significance of N sound objects relative to each other. Additional information is received, which contains parameters which enable to restore a set of audio objects formed on the basis of N audio objects based on M signals. Set of encoded audio objects formed on the basis of N audio objects is reconstructed based on M signals and additional information.
EFFECT: high coding efficiency.
