FIELD: separation; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of separating oxygen isotopes by chemical isotope exchange. Disclosed is a method of producing a catalyst for isotope exchange of carbon dioxide and water vapour based on nickel oxide and gamma-aluminium oxide. Gamma-aluminium oxide is pre-dried for 2 hours at temperature of 350 °C and impregnated with an aqueous solution of nickel nitrate with concentration of 2 mol/l in a ratio of nickel nitrate solution to gamma-aluminium oxide equal to 4:1 for 170 hours. Then water is evaporated. Nickel nitrate on the surface of gamma-aluminium oxide is thermally decomposed at 500 °C for 1 hour.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a catalyst for isotope exchange between carbon dioxide and water vapour, having high catalytic activity.
