FIELD: railway automation and telemechanics.

SUBSTANCE: device for monitoring fracture of rails and breakage of choke jumpers on sections with alternating current electric traction contains two measuring transformers, two threshold elements, two rectifying elements, a comparison element, an adder, a voltage divider, AND logic element, differentiating device, delay element and rail break fixation unit. To ensure automatic control of rail break or breakage of choke jumpers in a specific rail line, the device is additionally equipped with two comparators, two inverters and two AND logic elements connected to outputs of rectifying elements. Outputs of comparators are connected via opening and closing electronic switches to its own rail break fixation unit. Outputs of additional logic elements AND are connected to specific control units of choke jumper break and to control inputs of opening electronic switches.

EFFECT: expanded functionality of the device for automatic control of rail fracture on railways with electric traction of alternating current, equipped with rail circuits, due to provision of additional control of breakage of choke jumpers and provision of control of the particular rail line in which said breakage or fracture of rail occurred.
