FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring instruments and is used in coke production for determination of density of coal cake produced by compaction technology. Device for determining density of coal cake compacted in a box includes a housing equipped with a drive for moving a rod with an immersion needle, a measuring device and a control unit. Housing of the device is equipped with a support-orienting platform configured to be attached to the lateral side of the box, which is equipped with a hole. Support-orienting platform is made perpendicular to longitudinal axis of rod and immersion needle. Rod movement drive is made in the form of a pneumatic cylinder equipped with a pneumatic valve, a control unit connected to the piston position sensors and to the measuring device.
EFFECT: broader technological capabilities of the device associated with enabling use of the device in coke production for determining density of a coal cake without stopping production; creation of structurally reliable, simple device providing accurate, fast measurement of density of each coal cake in tamping box.
