FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of compaction and loading of coal charge into coking chambers for production of coke and can be used in coke-chemical industry at furnaces with gravitational loading of coal charge. Method includes supply, grinding, moistening and compaction of coals with subsequent loading of compacted charge into coking chamber. At that, the mixture of coals is additionally crushed with the help of hammer crushers with content of 88–92 wt. % of coals re-ground to fractionation of less than 3.15 mm, then the mixture is additionally moistened to 10–11 %. After that, a layer of charge with height of 550–650 mm is loaded from the bins of the coal tower by means of vibrating feeders to the tray installed in the box of the loading machine and by means of tamping free-falling hammers performing the lower layer of charge compaction. Further, the vibratory feeders continue to load the coal mixture into the box with its simultaneous compaction to density of 1.18–1.2 t/m3 to a given height with the formation of a coal cake, upper layer of cake is additionally compacted by moving hammers every 200–300 mm along box with lifting extreme hammers to upper position, note here that free fall of tamping device hammers is performed alternating while weight of each of free falling hammers of tamping device is equal to 480–550 kg.

EFFECT: creation of a higher density of the mixture of coals in the preparation of coal charge for coking in batch chambers with gravitational charge loading for production of higher quality coke with possibility of using design amount of cheaper initial coals for production of coke.
